WIPS: Hearts and Dragons

This post contains affiliate links.

As always, I have an absurd amount of Works In Progress.  Today's highlights are a circle vest with a heart motif and a dragon.  I'm hoping to finish both this week!

Have you entered April's yarn giveaway?

If you're in the market for a Kindle, most of them are on sale right now.

Disney Princess Bounding with Earrings from Amazon

This post contains affiliate links.
Have you heard of Disney Bounding?  Simply put, Disney Bounding is a way of dressing up as your favorite character without actually being in costume. You use regular everyday clothes and accessories.  These earrings, all from Amazon, are some great finishing touches for your Bounding outfits!

Belle needs a red rose, doesn't she?

Merida's a great shot with her bow and arrow.

Snow White shouldn't have taken a bite of that poisoned apple.
A pumpkin makes a magical carriage for Cinderella.

Watch out for that spinning wheel, Aurora!

Tiana wouldn't be complete without a frog.
Jasmine's best friend is a Tiger.
Obviously, Elsa's best accessory is snow.
These cherry blossoms show off Mulan's girly side.
Pocahontas wouldn't be complete without a feather or two.

If you are able to visit Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, make sure to check out my Scavenger Hunt!  It's lots of fun looking for all of the carefully placed details, it really does add another layer to your visit!

Stella & Dot Stylist Deal (Limited Time -- April)

This post contains affiliate links.

Isn't this necklace pretty?  It makes a bold statement, but without being too much, or just crazy over the top.

I'm a sucker for a pretty pair of pearl earrings!  These are particularly awesome, because while the pearls are super classy and refined, the spikes on the back (or front?!) give them enough edge to be sassy.  Such fun!

Easy Step by Step to Creating Mother's Day Card

1. Zoe -- Cut 1 1/2" x 5 1/2"; 1/4" x 5 1/2"; and 1" x 3" (round corners of this one).

2. Aqua Shimmer Trim -- cut a 5 1/4" length.

3. Adhere Zoe paper and Shimmer trim to Card base as shown.

4. Pixie -- Cut free-hand or use Artistry Cricut Cartridge found in CTMH Cricut Cartridge Booklet -- 1 flower base (<Flower 8>) 1 1/2". Cut 2 flower layers (Shift Layer), 1 at 1 3/4" a d 1 at 2". You may wish to cut 2 additional bases at 1 3/4" and 2" to use on the envelope, if hand delivering, and also on the gift tag.

5. Canary -- Cut 2 flower bases, 1 at 1 3/4" and 1 at 2". Cut 1 flower layer at 1 1/2". If you are making the additional flowers to embellish an envelope or gift tag, cut 2 additional flower layers, 1 at 1 3/4" and 1 at 2" (as above),

6. Adhere flower base and flower layers.

7. Adhere 1 sequin to center of each flower.

8. Adhere 1 touch of Sparkle to center of Sequin.

9. Using your fingers, gently roll the petals of each flower toward the center to add a little dimension.

10. Adhere completed flowers to upper left of card, as shown. I used foam tape to do this.

11. White Daisy -- Cut 1 rectangle, 3/4" x 2 3/4. Round corners.

12. Glacier Ink -- Stamp "Happy Mother's Day!" to center of White Daisy rectangle.

13. Adhere stamped sentiment to Zoe rectangle.

14. Adhere assembled sentiment to Card Base, slipping just a bit of the left edge under the flowers.

15. Adhere 3 Sparkles just below stamped sentiment.

I hope you had fun Papercrafting With Gayle!

Free Crochet Pattern: Treble Cluster Flower

This post contains affiliate links.

This crocheted flower is super simple to whip up!  It's downright adorable as an applique on blankets, hats, ear warmers, or even just on it's own.  I gave you a sneak peak of a bigger project that I'm working on, which include these cute little flowers.  I am excited to share this free crochet pattern with you now.

You can crochet these flowers with a single color, use multiple colors of yarn, different sized hooks, you can add buttons and beads as embellishments, there are so many options!  If you add buttons, use my little trick!  For the smaller flowers on this page I used a F hook and for the larger ones I used an I hook.  All the yarn is Sugar n' Cream.

Special Stitch
Treble cluster -- crochet three trebles stitches together.

1. Chain 2.

2. 5 single crochet stitches in first chain.  Join with a slip stitch.

3. *Chain 3. Treble cluster. Chain 3. Slip stitch in same stitch.* Repeat in all five stitches for five petals. Join and fasten off.  I made a little video of me crocheting one petal.  Here's the video.

4. Slip stitch to join.  Fasten off.

I love linking up at these blog parties.

I know it's not professional quality, but that's alright for now.  When I learn how to take better videos and how to edit them I will update this post.
