Before getting to the projects that I'm working on this week, I'd like to let you all know about a giveaway that I'm hosting! The prize is a beautiful Origami Owl Heart Locket. The giveaway is open to US residents and ends February 10, 2014.

I'm making slow and steady progress on Catherine's poncho/cape. (That's the cream yarn on the right.) At this point it's lots and lots of knit stitches with the occasional yarn over, so it's great for while I'm watching tv. I'm still hoping that it will turn out nicely, since I threw caution to the wind and am doing my own thing! Do you like knitting and/or crocheting while watching tv?
The project on the left (blue yarn) is an Elegant Hat -- with some modifications, of course. The color of this yarn is Blue Mint and I absolutely love it! I actually really enjoy working with Simply Soft yarn and will pick it up whenever I see it for cheap. This project has been sitting in a box, neglected, for almost a year. (Yikes!) It shouldn't take me too long to finish now that I'm working on it again. Please tell me that I'm not the only one who has easy to finish projects languishing away in boxes, please?
I shared a quick child's headband pattern that I whipped up on Monday. I'd love to hear what you think of it! (And isn't my model just adorable?)
I will be sharing this post at the following:

Nice projects, I love the look of the white/cream stitches. Watching tv without crocheting feels boring, so my answer to your question is a definite yes:)
ReplyDeleteYour WIPs look great so far. Yes, I definitely watch TV while I crochet unless it's a pattern that requires a lot of concentration. And, yes, I have lots of easy to finish, simple WIPs languishing in boxes waiting for me to remember them :-) You're not alone.
ReplyDeleteisn't tv/reading knitting THE BEST!! multitasking….at its finest.
ReplyDeleteJust a short while ago I plain didn't have the knitting skills, period, to sit and watch anything, because I had to stare at the needles- so I'm moving into a new land of being able to watch tv and knit at the same time, LOL. Both your projects look so lovely!
ReplyDeleteWatching tv is when I do most of my knitting. Helps pass the hours and hours of watching cars turn left (aka NASCAR). I also love to knit when travelling. I used to have lots of WIP in boxes and bags. I recently (finally) organized all my craft supplies and I got really firm with myself. If it wasn't a project I loved anymore or would finish this decade -out it went. I refuse to feel guilty about half finished projects any more. Life is too short for that. Now I have a handful of WIP (for various knitting occasions) that I will finish is a little while.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for dropping by my blog to say hello today, Rachel! I feel more justified watching TV if I'm crocheting — haha! — it makes me feel like I'm being "productive" rather than "wasting time." :-) Also, I'm with Paula in that I love to crochet in the car when traveling. Again, it makes me feel more productive if I can say I "accomplished something" after sitting for 12 hours on my duff in the car. LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel, thanks for linking up to my CAL! Your WIPs are so pretty, lovely colours...and do I have multiple projects stowed away? That's the reason I started my blog last year, to try to get me to finish all those countless WIPs! :-) Slowly but surely... Chrissie x
