What Would You Do With These Beads?

Hello, Dear Reader!  I apologize for being a little MIA lately.  My little family has moved!  We are just about all settled in now, so blogging will once again begin!

I do have a question for you, what would you do with these beads?  They are super duper cool, but my recent lack of crafting has left me a little uninspired.

I saw these earrings on Pinterest, and while they are very cute I was wondering if there was something more that I could do.  Help me out, please, Readers!

Amethyst Teardrop Memory Wire Bracelet

I was given beads to review from Happy Mango Beads.  All opinions are my own and, of course, they are my honest opinions.

I am super excited because Happy Mango Beads sent me an awesome package of beads to review.  (You should be excited too, because they also are sponsoring a fabulous giveaway!)  My daughter also was very excited when the beads came in the mail and insisted on being in the picture of all of the goodies.  Stay tuned for more projects featuring these beads!  (Today's project used the beads in the front center of this picture.)

Some of you might have noticed that I mentioned in last week's Quick Takes that I am moving shortly, which means that I don't have a lot of time for my crafting endeavors right now.  However, I just couldn't let all of these goodies just sit around in a cardboard box, could I?  One of the easiest jewelry projects to make are memory wire bracelets, so that's what I decided to make!

If you haven't made a bracelet using memory wire before, I highly recommended it.  It is very easy to create a beautiful piece of jewelry for anyone very quickly!  Here are the instructions:

  1. Use round nose jewelry pliers to make a loop.
  2. Add beads.
  3. Use round nose jewelry pliers to make a loop.

I used some seed beads from my stash and the Amethyst Teardrop Beads from Happy Mango Beads.  I enjoyed working with the amethyst beads.  Each hand-cut bead is slightly different and unique.  One package contained a fifteen inch strand of beads.  (I didn't count how many individual beads I received, however, there are plenty for a couple of projects!)  My one slight complaint is that the holes are not uniform in size--there were some beads that could not be threaded onto my memory wire.

So, what do you think?  Do you like this bracelet?  I really am quiet happy with the finished product!

I love sharing my craft around the blog world, check out these and the following for great places to party!

7 Quick Takes

1.  What did you do for the Fourth?  We did lots of packing (we're moving!) and enjoyed the fireworks on the National Mall.  It was a good day.  (And I totally rocked my Red, White, and Blue Earrings that I made!)

2.  Catherine asked for a "camel-lope" for breakfast today.

3.  Speaking of Catherine, she's three now!  I'm not sure how that happened.

4.  I made her a "castle cake" that turned out alright.

5.  Here's a picture of her coloring a page in the book that she received for her second birthday.  (Some pages she colors multiple times and others she leaves blank.  Oh, and yes, it's up-side-down here.)

6.  How are you fairing now that Google Reader is gone?  I've been using The Old Reader for awhile now, and so far I'm pretty happy.

7.  This made me chuckle.  I've been pretty good about swimming laps at 6:30 in the morning during the week.  (Except for today.)  The past two or three weeks the water has been warm, but before that it certainly had a bit of a nip for the first couple of meters.

Red, White, and Blue Earrings

(All Amazon links are my affiliate links.)

Are you visiting from Sugar Bee Crafts?  (Thank you, Mandy, for hosting the Red, White, and Blue series!)  Welcome to everyone, I'm so excited to have you visit my little corner of the blog world!

Sugar Bee Crafts Red White Blue

These earrings are fun and festive, and super easy to make!  I used some of the cute thrifted beads (check out that post here!) I got from a while back and some pretty white shell beads (similar to these on Amazon).

These earrings are super simple to make!  Simply add whatever beads you are going to use to a head pin then make a loop at the top and add them to a simple hook earring.  For more detailed instructions, including how to craft with a toddler, check out this tutorial that I did a little while ago!
