What I've Been Doing Instead of Cleaning
I've been playing around with the "Catherine Wheel" stitch. I think this is a great stitch: it's simple, elegant, and visually a lot more exciting than basic rows! I'm doing one with a H hook and one with a M hook. This one is with the M hook:
I've also been working on some sewing projects! I finally made a purse using Simplicity pattern 2396. I am really happy how it turned out! I did not add the button. To me the button for this purse is more decoration than functional and I didn't a a cute button on hand so I just skipped it. I think a plain-jane type of button would have been a mistake.
Personally, I like this fabric, however, my husband thinks it's pretty ugly. What are your thoughts on it? I have quite a bit of it, so I think this might be a good way to use it! It will most likely be popping up in my Etsy shop in the near future! Speaking of my Etsy shop, did you see that I'm having a $25 shop credit giveaway?
Oh, and did you see how my WIP scarf from last week turned out? Check it out here!

I think that fabric looks perfect for an apron, or a little girl's sundress!
ReplyDeleteI like the fabric but it wouldn't be right for just anything. It reminds me of a kitchen tablecloth or apron...the purse it great!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that stitch in a long time! Looks like you've figured out how to make it look beautiful. Thanks for sharing at Hookin On Hump Day!
